Greek Language & Cultural Summer Program in Macedonia, Greece       

    
*** Summer 2019 ***

A summer Greek Language & Hellenic Cultural Program is being organized in         co-operation with the Province/Regional area of Voio, in the Western Macedonia area of North-Western Greece.

The program is for three-weeks from:  Sunday, July 14^th – Sun. August 4, 2019

The program’s purpose is to offer participants*- from ages 18 + of Greek heritage as well as to non-Greeks -  a complete and memorable educational and vacation opportunity for them to:

• Learn and/or improve their knowledge of the Greek language
• Have a greater understanding and learn more about Greek culture, traditions, dance,   cuisine and attend local festivals and events
• Educational & cultural excursions in and the surrounding area in North-Western Greece such as folklore museums, archeological sites & museums, historic sites, the graphic villages and towns, monasteries, nature trails and beach areas.

The Program Includes:

• Program begins by meeting in Greece’s 2^nd largest City Thessaloniki at the historic landmark of the White Tower / Λευκός Πύργος.
• 3 week accommodation in the town of Tsotili, in the region of Voio.
• Breakfast & Lunch daily: to include locally Voiou grown & prepared organic foods/meals
• Intensive Greek language study program for 4 hours per day by local qualified teachers at the historic ‘yimnasio’ of Tsotili
• Instruction of Greek dance & music as well as Greek cuisine classes 
• Organized bus trips to local museums, historic sites, churches and monasteries as well as tours to nearby towns and cities such as Edessa, Florina, Grevena, Ioannina, Kastoria, Kozani, Naoussa, Siatista, Thessaloniki and Veria.
• Plus, an overnight stay & day trip in Thessaloniki visiting museums & city’s attractions. 
• Will also include visits to Vergina and Pella’s archeological sites/museums
• Weekend visit to beach areas on the idyllic Ionian coast.
• At the end of the program, participants will be dropped off at the White Tower in Thessaloniki.
• A fantastic opportunity for youth and all participants to visit & discover the Hellenic heritage in North-Western Greece. 

*Other ages may also be permitted based on age and accompaniment.

Cost & Other information:

• Cost for the program as outlined above for 2019 year is $1,000.00 in USD per person.

Participants other expenses include the following:

• Participants pay for their flight to and from Greece and to and from the meeting and drop off location at the White Tower in Thessaloniki
• Dinner throughout the stay and personal expenses the participant wishes to make.
